What is your name and what do you do at Schnellecke?
My name is Luisa and I have been working here at the company since the beginning of May. I am an international intern at the Schnellecke Group. I completed my first deployment at the Düsseldorf site in the Quality/Lean Department. I am currently working – in my second deployment – in Business Process Management in the Lean Management Department at the Wolfsburg site.
What is the best thing about your job?
The best thing so far is the variety. Just the fact that you change sites every third month means you get to experience a lot of new things. It never gets boring and, above all, you gain a lot of experience. I started right after receiving my bachelor’s degree, which means I might have less work experience than others – so I try to absorb a lot and pick up as much as I can. I don’t think there’s a better way to do this than by following this path.
What have you experienced at Schnellecke so far?
The Trainee Program includes an international deployment, which I’m really looking forward to. Six weeks in advance you find out where you are going. I am really looking forward to that. Two trainees are currently on their foreign postings in America and Slovakia. I’m really excited to see where it will take me and would love a Spanish-speaking country. But in general, it’s a great offer no matter where you go.
What do you think has been the biggest challenge so far?
In general, I think it’s jumping in at the deep end – with any task – that challenges you at first, but also makes you want to learn. However, I’ve never felt like I wasn’t allowed to ask. People are always helpful to me, but the best ideas usually come to you on your own and you don’t always ask for help.
Why did you decide to join Schnellecke?
I am from the Bremen area, so I was already familiar with Schnellecke, especially since I had a student job in the production at VW. Then I came across the International Trainee Program on the internet and found it very appealing. That, in combination with the international deployment and the insight into different departments, was the main reason for my decision.
