Sustainability and ESG

Responsibility along the value chain

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance and describes the relevant dimensions of responsible corporate management. For the Schnellecke Group, ESG is a management approach with clear goals, defined standards, and transparent control. On this page, you will find key information on climate protection, human rights, and the supply chain, as well as our requirements for business partners.

Sustainability is a strategic field of action for the Schnellecke Group. Our standards are global and measurable. We adhere to recognized standards, reduce emissions, strengthen occupational safety and human rights, and continuously develop our systems.

On the way to net zero

Schnellecke Logistics is pursuing the goal of achieving net zero in Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 2040. Reduction is our priority. We are lowering emissions through technical and operational measures. We address remaining, unavoidable emissions through appropriate compensation measures.

Green energy and stable supply

The switch to renewable energies is a key lever for us on the path to net zero. Where it makes sense, our own photovoltaic systems can help to meet energy needs partially independently and strengthen security of supply. At the same time, we are pushing ahead with the procurement and in-house generation of renewable electricity. The goal is to source all electricity at European locations from green sources by 2027.

Alternative fuels and new drive systems

Transport is one of the biggest drivers of emissions. We are working on alternative drive systems and charging infrastructure, including through pilot projects and collaborations. In addition, we are reducing emissions in the short term through fuel alternatives. In addition to CNG and LNG, the use of HVO100 will be increased from 2024, which can reduce CO2 emissions by around 80 percent compared to conventional diesel.

Emissions according to GHG Protocol, Scope 1 to 3

We report greenhouse gas emissions according to the GHG Protocol and define organizational boundaries based on the concept of operational control. Scope 1 covers direct emissions from fuels, gas, and refrigerants. Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from purchased electricity and district heating. The determination of significant Scope 3 emissions will be further expanded, as it is a prerequisite for consolidated transition plans.

Supply chain and standards

Clear requirements for greater transparency

This section contains the relevant principles for working with suppliers and business partners.

Requirements for suppliers and business partners

We take responsibility for our own business activities and for the supply chain. We communicate environmental and human rights requirements to suppliers and service providers via our Supplier Code of Conduct. By signing it, suppliers commit to complying with minimum requirements and fulfilling legal obligations and international standards.

Purchasing and order conditions

Our terms and conditions of purchase and order define the contractual framework for cooperation. They supplement our codes and create binding processes, evidence, and responsibilities.

Human rights and business ethics

Respect for human rights is a binding standard for the Schnellecke Group. We present the associated principles, procedures, and measures in detail on this page.

Whistleblower system

Reports of possible violations or risks, particularly in the context of the supply chain and human rights, can be submitted via our whistleblower system. Confidentiality is guaranteed.
