What is your name and what do you do at Schnellecke?

My name is Phillipp and I am a specialist trainee for project management. I started this program right after my college graduation. I studied transport and logistics management in Salzgitter, Germany. I have been here at Schnellecke since May 15.

What do you like best about your job?

Project Management oversees the project teams comprised of employees from different departments. Which means we communicate and interact with a wide variety of departments and people, making the job very interesting and varied.

Since there are many projects internally and externally, for example the implementation of new software or of logistics processes at a customer’s plant, you learn something new here every day.

What special experiences have you had at Schnellecke so far?

First, I applied for a permanent position. During the job interview, it turned out that I would first be considered for the Trainee Program – partly because I would be starting directly from university. That showed me that I would get a real chance here, that I would be developed professionally, and that I wouldn’t be rejected just because I had just finished my studies or because others were simply further ahead in terms of experience than I was.

In your opinion, what do you think has been the biggest challenge so far?

I wouldn’t describe myself as an introvert, however I had a bit of a hard time at the beginning. Trainees generally don’t have the most professional experience, but you still want to draw attention to yourself in a positive way.

Presenting oneself, showing one’s strengths, fueling one’s self-confidence through successful tasks – I think this is something that not only challenges me, but trainees in general.

I simply needed a bit of time to “thaw out”, but I always had the feeling that this time was given to me. My department has been very supportive. They make the greatest effort every day to welcome and integrate you. This is noticeable and it helps you immensely.

What made you decide to work for Schnellecke?

When you study logistics in Salzgitter, you inevitably come into contact with Schnellecke somehow, and not just because of the green trucks. Nevertheless, I still had to take a closer look at the company when I applied. Only then did I realize how diversely Schnellecke is positioned and how much they help to shape logistics trends. It is essential, especially in the fast-paced world of logistics, to acquire skills and keep your finger on the pulse in order to stay ahead of the competition.
